red for Pentacost Sunday at St James Austin

Thank goodness for Robin, who went with me, since I've been shy about going on my own.  And for her patience, since we happened into a marathon of a Sunday (unusually) with a long play by the youth group, four baptisms, etc. etc.  Anna was wiggly but sweet and pretty quiet given the long service.  And smart mom Robin packed goldfish, coloring books, mini Oreos.  Very smart!!  This song (below) that we sang at the very end, was new to me and my favorite - happily, it will probably stick in my head all week:

This intersection at the entrance to the Domain (the development where our office is) has needed a stoplight for at least a year - thank GOODNESS it's finally up and running. Simple joys for simple minds like mine.

Here is the lovely (and 40% off!) outdoor-worthy fabric that I'm going to use to cover my indoor couch cushions. I figure this material will be extra sturdy for dog wear and tear, plus I love the jaunty Hawaiian thing too. Now that I've picked this, I'm thinking I might paint the wood frame (with the wagon wheels, as you may recall) white. So many projects, so little time!

Here is what happens when someone like me (who has no patience for instructions) decides to start making a quilt. I am actually totally stoked about what's going on here. It's all men's shirts - upcycling!! Once I get all of these together, I'll cut this into a rectangle and add a border. Then found a lady who will do the machine quilting to make pretty curvy stitches all over the top. After that, I'm going to applique an image of a dog (of course) and several appliqued images of tennis balls too. It's going to be fab, trust me.
